(P1) Emmy Winning Producer Adam Barr shares a rich 25 year history working on the inside of Hollywood
(P1) Emmy winning TV writer & producer Adam Barr and I first met when I was 17. In fact, I'll be the first to say that Adam gave me my "big break," inviting me, a then overweight (350 pounds) local access TV host in Maine, onto the NBC set of "Will and Grace" in Los Angeles to interview the entire cast. It set my life on a whole new trajectory, taught me that anything was possible and created so much joy.
Adam's credits include "Will and Grace," "Desperate Housewives," "Old Adventures of New Christine," "Suburgatory," "The New Normal," "Growing Up Fisher," "Kath and Kim," among other gigs.
We talk about growing up in the same town in Maine, how our mom's knew each other and then we deep dive into the HOWs and WHYs of comedy and TV and the ins and outs of surviving in Hollywood for nearly three decades.
Adam talks about "Will and Grace" and how all the actors originally refused the roles. Plenty of laughs and touching insight.
This is one of my favorite, most profound and far-reaching interviews I've ever done. Proud and blissed out. Enjoy it.
